Nail In The Coffin...Ted Cruz Calls It A “Basketball Ring” While Stumping On The Hickory High Court from Hoosiers
Dallas Morning News – Someone probably should have reviewed basketball terminology with Ted Cruz before he addressed a rally Tuesday night at the Indiana gym where the classic Hoosiers was filmed.
“The amazing thing is, that basketball ring in Indiana, it’s the same height as it is in New York City and every other place in this country,” Cruz said during the rally.
That basketball ring, Cruz was referring to, is actually called a basketball hoop.
…
Remember when I thought Ted Cruz coming home from his honeymoon, jumping right into the car, and driving to the store to buy 100 cans of canned Campbell’s Chunky Soup was the move that made me not trust him the most?
Man was I wrong. Couldn’t have been more wrong in retrospect. Ted Cruz calling it a “basketball ring” while stumping on the Hickory High court from Hoosiers last night. Unreal. Unforgivable.
Forget, for a second, the setting – this hallowed court from a classic sports film, smack dab in the middle of Indiana, the state that produced legends of the game like Larry Bird, John Wooden, Big Dog Glenn Robinson and Josh McRoberts. Just the very fact that “basketball ring” came to Ted Cruz’s lips while talking about a basketball hoop. The fact that it entered his brain while looking at a basket to call it a ring. That is disturbing on such a deep, deep level.
So sorry to the Cruz campaign but I am officially OUT on Ted. Don’t need my politicians to be sports buffs by any means, but I do require that they aren’t the Zodiac Killer, don’t buy soup in bulk, and don’t think a rim is called a motherfucking basketball ring.
Hey Lyin’ Ted…
Boo.
PS,
If Hillary’s campaign managers had any idea what they were doing they’d book this gym for next weekend, roll a 6 foot hoop out to center court and have Hill Dog slam it home off an alley-oop from Gene Hackman.
